Memorial day is one set aside to remember those that have served and died for our country, and to honor those that still are. In my line of work memorial day becomes one filled with large customer counts, long hours and lots of transactions. The main reason gets forgotten oh too easily in that environment. But today, today was different than last year. I was at home with my family. I got to enjoy the break and remember those I'm so proud of. To start the morning, I made breakfast. But not planning on this, my groceries are low and I had to improvise. Sugar. Check. Butter. Check. Cinnamon. Check. Cressent rolls. Check. Bingo! Yep I made cinnamon cressent rolls that were to die for. Note to self, keep cressent on hand because this could be a future breakfast again in a pinch. And we all know any good baker keeps sugar, cinnamon and butter on hand at all times.

Southern-Fried Memorial Day PicNic
I absolutely LOVE the Food Network. Yes, I know. I'm a horrible addict, but I just can't help myself. When I saw their tweet about the perfect Memorial Day PicNic, I had to check it out. And wouldn't you know, it sounds AMAZING!!!!
Check it out for yourself! Who wouldn't love a nice cocktail, a little puff pastry and some seriously down home buttermilk fried chicken. I'm seriously considering changing my Monday Menu.

Things I never thought I'd say
I've been behind on blogging because life has taken over. And with 4 boys, a full time job, 2 part time jobs and school it's no wonder how that happened. So iPhone has iblogger and I'm hoping it will rejuvinate my blogging.
To kick it off...my husband and I have recently found ourselves saying things we never thought we would say. Ah the joys of raising boys!
1. Get you hands out of your pants.. Said at the dinner table in a nice restaurant.
2. We do not write on the furniture, walls or our little brothers.
3. Stop licking my toes. Eww
4. Stop sharing toys with your brothers head.
5. Stop smelling your brothers butt.
If that doesn't make you laugh, I'm not really sure what will. Needless to say, our house us never boring!
